The Sorceress – Micheal Scott
Summary
The third book in the Nicolas Flamel series focuses on his wife, Perenelle Flamel, as the title suggests.
We dive into her history and learn that she is more powerful and dangerous than her husband, but keeps herself in the background. But apparently almost all characters, including Dr. John Dee and Niccolo Machiavelli, at least respect her powers and in most cases even fear her.
The story is largely set in London, where we not only meet more famous immortals like William Shakespeare, who could have gotten a bigger role for my liking, but the story is set in the center of Dee’s power. What seems to be a home run at first turns out to be a disaster for the ever-confident dark magician.
We also learn more about the history and backstory of the mysterious Elders, who were not the first rulers of the Earths – but Archons were. These Archons ruled through some sort of technology that seems to be something other than pure magic.
I like the fact that Scott is developing his own version of history and revealing more and more details with each book.
P.S.: I read the book in German.
